Arunachal Sets Youth-Centred Development Vision
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has unveiled a development roadmap aimed at making the state’s youth more skilled, entrepreneurial and globally competitive by 2036.
The Arunachal Human Capital & Economic Transformation Vision 2036 seeks to create a future-ready workforce and an innovation-driven economy by expanding opportunities for skill development, entrepreneurship, apprenticeships and international employment.
Khandu said the initiative is designed to ensure that young people can compete not only within Arunachal Pradesh and India but also in the global marketplace.
Vision Targets 1 Lakh Skilled Youth
The roadmap sets several measurable targets for the coming decade. It aims to:
- Train 1 lakh youths
- Create 10,000 entrepreneurs
- Facilitate 10,000 apprenticeships
- Enable 10,000 overseas placements
- Establish 100 industry partnerships
- Transform all 10 ITIs into modern Skill Hubs and Centres of Excellence
The government intends to strengthen the connection between skill training and emerging employment opportunities through greater industry participation.
Focus on Entrepreneurship and MSMEs
Alongside the Vision 2036 roadmap, the state has launched the Arun MSME Mission to strengthen entrepreneurship and create more opportunities for young people.
Under the initiative, 500 MSMEs will receive support every year through revival and capacity-upgradation measures. The mission will also provide assistance in areas including market linkages, capacity enhancement and export opportunities.
The government expects the initiative to strengthen local entrepreneurship, generate employment and contribute to youth-led economic transformation across the state.
ITIs to Become Modern Skill Hubs
A major component of the roadmap is the transformation of all 10 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Arunachal Pradesh into modern Skill Hubs and Centres of Excellence.
