ITANAGAR, ARUNACHAL PRADESH — Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has reiterated the state government’s commitment to empowering youth through global education opportunities, highlighting a flagship scholarship programme that fully funds students admitted to leading international universities.
Speaking in Itanagar, Khandu said that the initiative, introduced last year, is aimed at providing talented students from Arunachal Pradesh with global exposure and access to world-class education. He подчеркнул that the scheme reflects the government’s belief in the potential of the state’s youth, who are excelling across academic and professional fields.
Under the programme, students who secure admission to the world’s top 100–150 universities are eligible for a 100 percent scholarship, with the state government covering all major expenses. These include tuition fees, accommodation, and other associated costs, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent deserving candidates from pursuing higher education abroad.
Khandu noted that several students from the state successfully gained admission to top-ranked global institutions in the first year of the scheme, and the government has already taken responsibility for funding their education. He described this as an encouraging start and expressed optimism that more students would benefit from the initiative in the coming years.
The Chief Minister подчеркнул that the scheme is designed not only to support individual students but also to contribute to the long-term development of the state. By enabling access to international education, the government aims to build a pool of highly skilled professionals who can bring back knowledge, innovation, and global perspectives to Arunachal Pradesh.
He encouraged students to aim high and take advantage of the opportunity, urging them to focus on academic excellence and actively apply to top global institutions. According to him, the scheme removes financial barriers, making it possible for talented individuals from diverse backgrounds to compete on an international stage.
Officials say the initiative aligns with broader efforts by the state government to strengthen education, skill development, and youth empowerment. It complements other programmes focused on vocational training, entrepreneurship, and employment generation, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for youth advancement.
Education experts have welcomed the move, noting that access to top-tier global universities can significantly enhance career prospects and exposure to cutting-edge research and innovation. Such initiatives are also expected to inspire younger students to pursue higher academic goals.
The scheme has generated considerable interest among students and parents across the state, with many viewing it as a transformative opportunity. Authorities are working to streamline the application and selection process to ensure transparency and wider outreach.
Pema Khandu’s remarks underline the Arunachal Pradesh government’s focus on investing in human capital, positioning its youth for global success while contributing to the state’s long-term growth and development.
